Creatives on a walk for a job

What the heck is going on in ad land? How come, that several creatives are touring from one end of the nation to another? (While documenting their pilgrimmage online on Facebook). Santiago Cosme and Victor Blanco, two advertising students, are travelling from NY, where they landed, to the HQ of CPB in Colorado. In Germany, [...]

Ripple Effect – a new book on word-of-mouth by empowerment

Martin Oetting – sorry, Dr. Martin Oetting, as of a short while ago (congratulations!), just published a reference to his newly released thesis: ripple effect (How Empowered Involvement Drives Word of Mouth). The link leads to a page with a small “social media release”, which includes a PDF with a short summary (in German), a [...]

The whole incident raised a lot of questions in Germany about the costs incured and whether or not she should have taken it to Spain in the first place. No – says [...]

Mad Avenue Blues

The year the media died… This video is great. almost 10 minutes long, like the original song by Don Mclean, and in bits seemingly redundant, but fun to watch and listen to nevertheless – well done! For your bookmarks:

Amazing Axe Guerrilla stunt

A nice yet simple idea: at an all women race an Axe guy sprayed himself and then ran ahead of the crowd as if they were chasing him. As with most guerrilla marketing campaigns, this one seems to have its main effect through the word of mouth it’s getting online, on sites like this one, [...]

Somehow Sony managed to get everyone excited even about the making of a new advertisement. There was a lot of discussion about the previous bravia ads during their production. Matrix style Toshiba Spot with 2.5 mio frames

Apparently 200 camcorders produced 2.5 mio single frames to enable this matrix style ad. Amazing footage. However, the 3 mio british pounds are quite steep – if that is really the correct production costs, which I somehow doubt. (found at brainwash) For your bookmarks:

Google using neuroscience research to test overlay video ads.

YouTube still doesn’t seem to deliver sufficient revenue and the video ads on offer still haven’t been picked up by the ad community. In addition to the regular display ads, there are also overlay ads, which cover one third of the video. (Google says they will also be introducing pre- mid- and postroll ads, when [...]

Always read the fine print in advertising

In the following billboard, the price for a car rental is marked at 129.- Euros: And as you can see, in the fine print, it says that at airports Sixt charges an extra 19%, i.e. 153,31 Euros in total. Why not you might ask – and I agree, why not. Let them charge what they [...]
