Germanwings and easyjet are two low budget airlines competing on the german market. German wings now came up with a peculiar idea of comparative advertising. It’s a novel idea, however I am not sure if I really like the execution, but judge for yourself:

I am badly hooked on the series “lost“, as I wrote in my German Blog already. The sixth and supposedly last season started yesterday in the US (the parts are available in Germany always one day later), however in the last couple of days / weeks a few marketing gigs have already taken place. Such as this one: you can book a flight on Oceanic 815 from Sydney to L.A. on kayak.com – for a horrendous price, of course. Quite a nice idea!

Fascinating idea, even though against advertising, I can sympathize with it:

New York City is covered with illegal billboards and advertisements. One random day, civilians decided to take back the public space by covering over 120 illegal billboards with original works of art.

This isn’t so new any more, but I had this in my drafts and definitely wanted to share it with you. Zuji, an online travel agent, launched a rather unique campaign to illustrate the great possibilities to save money for nicer holidays:

The main thing of this was probably the ways the video made it’s way through the web… a good viral campaign.

Amazing Axe Guerrilla stunt

A nice yet simple idea: at an all women race an Axe guy sprayed himself and then ran ahead of the crowd as if they were chasing him.

As with most guerrilla marketing campaigns, this one seems to have its main effect through the word of mouth it’s getting online, on sites like this one, but also here, here, and here, where i found out about it.

Adrants has some news on really excellent Guerilla Marketing by Nike.

All it took was three cars:

the first looking like a giant soccer ball,
the other two, driving behind, looking like giant sneekers

Wonder if we get to see cool stuff like that here in Germany during the world cup?
